Five lucky families won Micro Scooters prizes this year in the Whānau Photo Competition. There were big smiles on the faces of one Silvestream School family who won an adult scooter. Myla and Willa Munro walked and wheeled every day during Movin’March and their family loved how they had such bonding chats in the morning and enjoyed bumping into friends along the way.
Willa’s class took part in an activity where they walked around the perimeter of the school, motivating the Year 1 and 2 students to get in the mood for Movin’March. The 5 and 6 year old students were surprised how they managed to walk a total of 11 kilometres during the month.
Epuni School students Seule and Savea also loved the walking that came with park and striding during Movin’March with Seule winning a “Scootersaurus” helmet for their participation.
The Edser family were the proud winners of another adult Micro scooter and although they would love to keep it for the whānau to ride, they jointly decided to donate it to the Naenae School’s Kapa Haka fundraising group, to help with the trip planned later this year. Not only does this raise funds for a great cause, they also give the joy of scootering to another family.
Ten other families received family passes to visit Zealandia and Staglands in the competition. Thanks to all our participating whānau and to Micro Scooters, Zealandia and Staglands for their support of Movin’March!
